WELCOME!Since 1972, the Chico Area Flyfishers club has been involved in community activities which support and promote fly fishing. The Chico Area Flyfishers also support and participate in projects throughout Northern California which enhance fisheries and fish habitat. The club works with youth and adults alike to foster a love of fishing and the great outdoors.
Be sure to check out our Calendar, Events, and Newsletters pages. We are excited to announce our monthly Fly Casting Clinic offered free of charge to anyone who is interested about fly fishing. It will be held at the Sycamore Field in Bidwell Park (between Caper Acres and the One-Mile Pool) the third Sunday of the Month from 12 noon to 3pm. We have rods and instructors to help you out. Join us for our Father's Day Casting in the Park. Hotdogs! Sunday, June 16, 2024. Our members will be enjoying a "Hex Hatch BBQ" at Pat and Pam Hallin's cabin at Lake Almanor on Saturday, June 22 at 4pm. Free. California Free Fishing Days are coming up! Saturday, July 7 and Saturday, August 31st are the days one can fish without a California Fishing License. However, all other regulations are still in effect. The club meets on the second Wednesday of every month, October through May. Fly tying begins at 6:30pm and the General Meeting begins at 7:30pm at the Lakeside Pavilion (2565 California Park Drive, Chico). So far, we have Clay Hash as our October presenter, then Allen Harthorn (of Friends of Butte Creek) and Gayland Taylor for the November meeting. |
