Casting in the Park

Sycamore Field (Between Caper Acres and One-Mile Pool)

Chico Area Flyfishers offers a free casting clinic free of charge to anyone who is interested in fly fishing. We use the fly casting curriculum and teaching pedagogy from Fly Fishing International (FFI) and offer instruction and certification opportunities to earn their Bronze, Silver, or Gold FFI casting status. Father's Day, Sunday June 16, 2024 from 12noon to 3pm: Our third Casting in the Park session. This time it is a great opportunity for families to get together with their Dad (or to remember Dad who might no longer be with us). Hotdogs, special raffle, along with personal, free instruction on casting your fly rod. 

Sunday, July 21, 2024 from 10:30am to 1pm: Note the time change. We are anticipating the summer heat of Chico to kick in, so we are meeting earlier through September. Maybe those of you church folks and enjoy your fellowship with a fly rod in hand! Sycamore Field. Free to anyone interested. Bring your own gear, or we have some you can borrow.
